Discovery Cove in Orlando is celebrating a new addition to its dolphin family. Baby Skye was born February 23rd at 5:36 a.m. She measures 4 feet in length and weighed in at a mere 52 pounds at birth!
She is happily bonding with her mom, 32-year-old Astra, and her sisters, Amara and Aries. Skye is the 30th dolphin to be born at Discovery Cove since its opening in 2000.
Discovery Cove is a one-of-kind theme park and an adventure worth experiencing… especially the chance to swim with the dolphins. Just wade into the tropical lagoon and meet up with friendly bottlenose dolphins. Learn about their behavior and communication. Come “nose to bottlenose” and make friends with these curious mammals. Then take hold of their dorsal fin and hang on for a exciting tow ride back to shore!
Plan to spend the day at Discovery Cove and enjoy all the activities… swimming in the warm waters of Serenity Bay… gliding down Wind Away River through rain forests, caves and waterfalls… feeding fruit to exotic birds at Explorer’s Aviary.
Wade through Freshwater Oasis for face-to-face encounters with playful otters. Snorkel throughout Grand Reef amidst colorful fish, coral and rays.
Or try the Sea Venture… an underwater walking tour in a dive helmet… an immersive venture through the coral reef and its sea life. Even get close-up with sharks… through panoramic windows!
Admission to Discovery Cove includes visits to Sea World and Aquatica, Sea World’s waterpark. So check out Discovery Cove soon… and say hello to new Baby Skye!
